About us
Dance BG is non-governmental Organization founded 2000 by Dune Dance Company Burgas, Bulgaria. The mission of the organization is the development of Bulgarian contemporary dance on national and international level as well as its recognition as a part of Bulgarian contemporary culture.
Dance BG works for professional realization of young
artists trough organizing different projects concerning education, creativity
and partnerships with young choreographers, artists and managers. The
organization’s team includes choreographers, dance teachers, managers,
sociologists and students in humanitarian and artistic subjects from Burgas.
In Burgas Dance BG manages Contemporary and Street dance School since 1996 in Youth Cultural Center. Over 300 children and teenagers in age 5 – 25 are students in the School.
From 2006 the Organization manages Dune Dance Studio where there have different dance styles (salsa, African, folklore dance, contemporary dance, ect.)
Activities:
- Projects considering the development of bulgarian contemporary dance
- Organazing dance workshops, specializations and participations in mutual projects
- Spreading of know how and information among new generation of dancers and choreographers in Bulgaria
- Promotion of Bulgarian contemporary dance on national and international level
- Gathering and spreading of specific information about giving chance for realization of bulgarian performers and choreographers
- Encouraging of exchange and cooperation with organizations and individuals with common aims from Bulgaria and abroad
The Projects of organziation are supported by: „ProHelvetia” Sofia – Swiss Cultural program in Bulgaria, Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Bulgaria, National Fund Culture, National center for Music and Dance, S.T.E.P. Beyond – ECF Mobility Fund, World Bank – Sofia Branch and ect.
